Jan-Alexander has more than 20 years of industry and consulting experience, with deep expertise in wholesale banking including corporate finance.

He works with globally leading financial institutions to address the topics of financial performance management in wholesale banking and asset-based finance. This includes full potential programs covering growth activities that obey required risk-adjusted return perspectives, restructuring and capital management initiatives, as well as functional optimizations in finance, risk and compliance divisions, by applying advanced technology and new ways of working.

Jan-Alexander formerly served as Deputy CFO and Managing Director with global responsibility for group finance and financial controlling at a German wholesale bank.

Outside of Bain, Jan serves as guest professor at the Bucerius Law School, where he teaches the mandatory topic of “restructuring” in MBA classes.

He earned a diploma in business administration from the University of Hamburg and a PhD in economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.
